Shopify Q/A for Program Managers

  • How is Shopify set up with Kotis (How are they linked)?
  • Who will work as a “Processor” for any PII data transaction?
  • Do you keep consumer data on your end while processing/sending to Shopify?
    • Yes, we use the information to process/fulfill the order, Data is purged regularly, similar to our standard Kotis orders
  • Is everything SOC 2 compliant?
    • This is unrelated to Shopify but just general info about our system. Kotis performs a SOC2 audit each year which covers the security of our platform overall and covers a variety of industry-standard security measures. It includes things like the principle of least privilege, secure application development, encryption of data at rest and in transit, and purging data once it is no longer needed. Those are examples only of the many security measures we take within our system.
  • Which integrations do you have with Shopify?
    • Only order fulfillment
      • Does it include, stocks/stock updates, payment, delivery, others?
        • Regarding anything on the Shopify page would be up to the client. Kotis has no control over what is shown to end users, the integration is entirely behind-the-scenes. Whether the client needs to display information about their processors/subprocessors would be up to them.
  • Does your API sync and push warehouse order status to Shopify? Does Shopify handle it and display it?
    • 1) orders get sent from Shopify to Kotis system for fulfillment:  We are only able to view the Shopify order # and items.  Pricing is not pulled into our reports.
    • 2) tracking numbers get sent from Kotis system back to Shopify, and
    • 3) inventory values are updated daily.
  • Who manages the Order fulfillment status/delivery status information to the consumer?
    • Per the above Kotis will fulfill orders sent to us through Shopify App
  • How is the final shipping calculated?
    • Shipping from our carriers is calculated by size, weight, or dimensional weight
    • Shipping costs are billed to you via the quarterly report.
    • The client sets their own shipping costs for Shopify
  • Do you support in terms of:
    • Main configuration implementation and test:
      •  We support with initial setup per the guide but recommend a Shopify expert on their end.
    • Allow us to place test orders, test payments, status, etc..
      •  Unfortunately, no.  Similar to a regular portal, we do not have test order capabilities on our end.
    • After the Shopify store is launched do you still provide support?
      • We provide support on the Kotis side.  We do not support any Shopify functions.
    • Who/How do we take reports from the data pipe that you own?
      • As a client, they will have access to our full reporting suite, including anything additional on the side of Shopify
